ABOUT
THE ARTIST
Solution-savvy
Graphic Designer, Michelle Reed, revolves her life around learning
and incorporates her knowledge within many different fields. Her
talent of communicating with the client to absorb as much information
as she can, enables her to translate their visions into eye-catching
designs.
She finds that there is a direct relationship between the field
of artistic design and business; both requiring careful planning
and open communication to find their greatest potential. She integrates
her creations into the digital media atmosphere enhancing the
design and obtaining the desired impact.
Michelle has always shown her artistic talents since she was a
child. From kindergarten finger painting to high school art class,
she excelled at any medium presented to her. Not only were her
artistic abilities prevalent during this time, her writing skills
stretched far beyond her years as she won awards in her high school
literary magazine competitions and earned Bedford’s Women
in Excellence Scholarship her senior year in High School.
Fresh out of high school, her dreams were to attend the Art Institute
of Pittsburg, PA and major in Graphic Design. She settled for
an education at the University of Toledo, OH where she faired
well, but was unsatisfied at their lack of art and design courses
at the time. Life happened and she withdrew from the university
but vowed to return someday. That day came approximately 10 years
later as advances in technology allowed her to pursue her dreams
of being a Graphic Designer. She was accepted to the Art Institute
Online and was steadfast in her learning. Michelle felt that this
was her last chance at her dream and therefore excelled in her
studies. She graduated in December, 2005 with an Honors Associates
Degree in Graphic Design. Her proudest achievement while attending
college was when she was placed on the school’s President’s
List.
Wanting to pursue a career as a Graphic Artist and needing an
outlet for her creative talents, she began to network herself
as a freelance entrepreneur. She currently has several clients
which she designs websites for and performs other design needs.
Previously, Michelle has been commissioned to work as Creative
Services Director for Seniority Magazine, a former magazine for
mature adults in Seneca County, OH. She also held Graphic Artist
titles for local Fremont companies, Tanner Printing and the News
Messenger. More recently, Michelle began the first ever non-profit
association for the Lawn Greetings industry. She also continues
to volunteer her time as a Cub Scout Leader as well.
